Muse Credits
Understand promotional starter credits, the planned Muse Credits add-on, and BYOK.
Overview
Muse Credits are UXit-managed usage for the assistant. They let users work without setting up a separate AI provider account, managing API keys, or guessing what a single prompt will cost. BYOK is still available for users who prefer to bring their own provider key, but credits are the simpler UXit-native path.
Promotional Starter Credits
New accounts may receive promotional starter credits to try Muse on real work before choosing a paid add-on or connecting their own key. They are available without a credit card on any account type, including Freelance, and are a one-time balance that does not renew once used.
No setup required
Promotional starter credits are the fastest way to see Muse work inside UXit. Open Muse, write a prompt, and review the draft.
Planned Add-on

The paid Muse Credits add-on is not fully active in the current beta, and pricing has not been announced yet.
The paid Muse Credits add-on is planned for paid plans and is designed for teams that want Muse available without asking every user to manage a third-party AI account. UXit handles model access and billing, giving the organization a cleaner operational path.
This is useful when:
- Finance needs a predictable add-on instead of variable API spend.
- A team wants one UXit billing relationship instead of separate provider invoices.
- Users need Muse to work without API-key setup.
- An organization does not want every teammate creating their own provider account.
- Non-technical users need a turnkey way to use Muse.
The planned add-on is also easier to explain internally: one Muse submission uses one credit. Users do not need to estimate tokens, model pricing, context size, or how a long prompt changes the cost.
BYOK
BYOK responsibility
If you use your own key, provider setup, charges, usage, availability, and output behavior are your responsibility. UXit cannot provide billing support, refunds, or output guarantees for BYOK usage.
BYOK means bring your own key. In UXit, it uses an OpenRouter API key from Settings -> Integrations and is the advanced path for users who want to manage their own provider account, usage, and billing.
Credits And Modes
Muse Credits are for running Muse, not selecting modes. During beta, active modes are available for testing; when paid plans launch, mode access may be tied to plan level rather than credit balance.
Best Practices
- Use promotional starter credits to test Muse on real UXit work.
- Use the planned add-on when your team wants predictable Muse usage inside UXit.
- Use BYOK only when managing an external provider account is the right fit.
- Keep credit planning separate from draft review; Muse output should still be reviewed before approval.
